Course contents: 1. Basic Set

  • One lotus leaf

    These lotus leaves are about the size of an outstretched hand (approx. 23cm). They are real lotus leaves, processed for use as art materials, and are the most popular item for botanical painting.

  • 2 paulownia boards

    This is a lightweight Paulownia wood board, palm-sized (width 94mm, height 200mm, thickness 15mm). A lotus leaf is adhered to the front surface, and the back surface has a hole for display (can be displayed with an insect pin) and the Botany Painting logo.

  • Seaweed

    This is an adhesive specifically designed for Botanical Painting. It's a high-moisture adhesive specially formulated to make it easier to attach lotus leaves. It's a user-friendly, water-soluble product that does not contain formaldehyde or other compounds.

  • Sponge

    At Botany Painting, we offer simple coloring methods using sponges, in addition to brushes. You can easily color lotus leaves with your favorite colors, as if applying makeup. Once you're comfortable with sponges, we recommend trying coloring with brushes and water.

2. Choose Your Paint Set

You can choose your favorite set from four seasonal themes. The paints are high-quality, easy-to-use Turner U35 11ml paints. These paints are characterized by vibrant colors and excellent lightfastness, and are widely used by everyone from beginners to professionals. They have the unique property of dissolving like watercolors and drying like acrylic paints, allowing for a variety of expressive techniques. In addition, they become water-resistant after drying, so you can enjoy your finished works for a long time.
